RMA

As of June 16th, 2008, GeIL Taiwan assumes all support/warranty inquiries and claims. From this date forward, GeIL USA no longer handles support/warranty/RMA services. Thank you for your attention.

If you are experiencing problems with your memory module(s), please follow the following steps:

  1. Check your memory module(s) and make sure it is still under warranty. (Check if your memory module(s) belongs to one of the incidents stated in disclaimer. If it does, then the warranty automatically voids.)
  2. Contact GeIL Technical Support for troubleshooting and solutions. (You may get technical support from GeIL's forum or through email: tech@geil.com.tw)
  3. If the problems remained unsolved after talking with one of our technical support, you may contact GeIL authorized reseller/retailer where you purchase the memory modules for warranty replacement (you must send back your memory modules to authorized reseller/retailer for warranty replacement.)
  4. The modules returned will be tested at GeIL reseller/ retailer . (If the modules are determined to be defective, a tested functional module will be sent back to you. If the modules are determined to be functional, the original module or an equivalent/better module will be sent back to you instead.)

If GeIL authorized reseller/retailer is not present or the problem still remains unsolved after contacting them, please email GeIL RMA Dept. directly to tech@geil.com.tw. We will get back to you within 24 - 48 hours.  You may also apply for a RMA No. on our website which is a quicker way to receive a valid GeIL RMA No.  Please follow the instructions below: 

  1. To apply for a RMA No. from GeIL, please complete the RMA Request Form http://www.geil.com.tw/support_request/create with your contact information and defective memory modules' part numbers.  Please use the alphanumerical number which begins with the letter "G" found on the hologram stickers as the actual part number.
  2. Please allow 24 - 48 hours for your RMA Request to be approved.  After the initial 24 hour period, you may check its status here http://www.geil.com.tw/support_request/check Enter the Case No. which has been emailed to you into the appropriate field and click "Search" to bring up your RMA Request Form.  If it's approved, you will see a valid 4-digit RMA No. on the form you completed.
  3. Please note if you have a dual channel kit, you must send back both modules in order to receive a new replacement.  Dual Channel kits are factory tested and paired sets that cannot be taken apart under any circumstances.  To ensure the operation stability/performance, this policy is enforced.
  4. GeIL will contact you within 24 hours upon receipt of your RMA package.  Please allow 3 - 5 business days for the RMA Dept. to inspect/test your memory modules.  Once your modules are deemed defective, we will replace them immediately and contact you by email when we're ready to ship out your new replacement.

 

GeIL will continue to honor service or replacement warranty even when a product is discontinued by GeIL. However, when a critical component of the discontinued product (ie. IC) has become obsolete and unavailable, then the warranty on the discontinued GeIL product will be carried out by replacement of  a current but different GeIL product, which GeIL reserve the right to determine the replacement choice.

Special Note:  GeIL provides technical inspection for Voided Warranty memory modules (physical damage or burned parts) for us$20.00, and will provide a detailed repair cost report for review. Upon agreement on the cost report, the modules will then be sent for RMA services.
